First thing - I am not a blogger. I am not a writer. I am a card carrying introvert. Doing this puts me so far out of my comfort zone, but no fear. No pressure as I whisper to myself "you can do this."

I enjoyed an amazing weekend at Christy Wright’s Business Boutique Conference #businessboutique. So much so that I joined the #businessboutiqueacademy. Inspired does not begin to describe the feeling I had. In an effort to keep the inspiration going, I begin.

I started a journey in June, 2018. I wanted to do something different than I have ever done before. I wanted to work for myself. I wanted the flexibility of time. I wanted to work from home. I wanted something I could continue for years that did not make me feel trapped in the corporate world. I knew what i envisioned even though I did not know what to call it. I researched. (Google is a good buddy of mine.) I came upon the term "virtual assistant." It clicked. All of it. This was my next step. I did not know how to start. I just knew I had to. I created a website Yep, this one. I am not a creative person. I am not artistic. But I did it. I finished the Simply Virtual Assistance site and found the courage to go live with it in early February, 2019. To this day, I have no idea what I am doing.

I hit the "Publish" button, and I waited. Not sure what I was waiting for, I knew better than to think it would be seen automatically. I did finally stop watching the computer screen and went to dinner but inwardly, I waited. No traffic. Days. Months. More months. Finally, I was able to see that someone, somewhere saw it. The excitement started and then faded. This went on for months.

Now, over 7 months later, I have seen progress. It may not be much, but it is a start. A beginning.
